Mr. Schuman is a native of the Capital District, where he completed programs of study in radiologic technology and diagnostic ultrasound, graduating with honors. Peter pursued further post-graduate education, receiving his medical degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Albany Medical College in 1997.
Mr. Schuman served internships at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, Albany Medical Center, St. Peter’s Hospital, and the Albany VA Medical Center. In addition to his experience as a PA, Peter holds specialty board certification in a number of areas throughout medical imaging, including: radiologic technology, diagnostic ultrasound, vascular technology, and clinical bone densitometry.
Peter has worked in medical imaging since 1991 and began practice as a radiologic PA in 1997, the first PA to do so in the Capital District. He is Chief PA for the Department of Medical Imaging at St. Peter’s Hospital, and has a major role in clinical bone densitometry (DEXA) at Albany Advanced Imaging. Peter is a delegate in radiology to the NYS Society of Physician Assistants. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, NYS Society of Physician Assistants, and the International Society for Clinical Bone Densitometry.
In his free time, Peter enjoys boating and SCUBA diving.
