Dr. Rapoport hails from Middletown, New York. He was selected for the accelerated undergraduate and medical school program of Union University, Schenectady, New York, and Albany Medical College. Rob was elected to both Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Societies during his college and medical school years.

Rob completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a full two year fellowship in Neuroradiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received full certification by the American Board of Radiology in 1993, and the Board's Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology in 1995. He is the author of several scientific papers, and has served as a consultant on open style magnet design for leading MRI manufacturers.

Dr. Rapoport joined the active interpretive staff of Albany Advanced Imaging in 1999, and became a Member in January, 2002. Rob’s outstanding contribution to the success of Albany Advanced Imaging led to his appointment as President and Medical Director in January, 2002. Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Rapoport was a neuroradiologist at Albany Medical Center Hospital, and was director of the residency program in diagnostic radiology. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, and is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

Rob lives with his family in Delmar, New York, and is an avid tennis player
